The pilgrimage to the holy shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi remained suspended for the 14th consecutive day on Monday owing to persistent rainfall, multiple landslides and safety risks along the route.

Officials said the tracks leading to the shrine have been rendered unsafe after continuous landslides, while the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway also remains blocked at several points due to debris and road damage, hampering connectivity.

Restoration work is being carried out on priority, but authorities stressed that the yatra would only resume once weather conditions improve and the tracks are declared safe for movement.

The prolonged suspension has caused deep disappointment among devotees, while local traders and service providers dependent on the pilgrimage are facing mounting losses.

The administration has urged pilgrims to remain patient and avoid travelling towards the shrine until further notice.(News Agency)
