Continuing its sustained crackdown against drug trafficking, terror-related activities and the financial networks supporting such illegal activities, Srinagar Police has taken legal action against four immovable properties collectively valued at approximately ₹6.31 crore.
The properties have been attached or frozen under provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) [UA(P)] Act, following investigations and approval of the competent authorities.
In the latest action, Police Station Zakura attached a residential house along with land at Bilal Colony, Zakura, valued at approximately ₹2.50 crore, belonging to Owais Ahmad Rather, son of Gh. Mohd Rather.
The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 34/2026 under Sections 8/22 and 29 of the NDPS Act. During investigation, the property was identified as having been acquired in connection with illicit drug trafficking.
The property was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act, prohibiting its sale, lease, transfer, alteration or creation of any third-party interest until further orders of the competent authority.
Earlier, Police Station Nowgam attached property valued at approximately ₹2.85 crore belonging to Sheeraz Ahmed Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Wagoora, BK Pora.
The property, situated at Wagoora, Tehsil BK Pora, comprises a two-storeyed concrete building, two shops and a rice mill constructed over 18 marlas of land. The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 121/2023 under Sections 8/15 of the NDPS Act and was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act after approval from the competent authority.
In another action, Police Station Ahmadnagar attached a residential property valued at approximately ₹1.30 crore at Danihama, Hazratbal, belonging to Zahoor Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Gani Mir.
The property comprises a single-storeyed residential house along with six marlas of appurtenant land. The action was taken in connection with FIR No. 20/2026 under Section 7/25 of the Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 18-B, 19, 20, 23, 38 and 39 of the UA(P) Act.
The property was attached under Section 25 of the UA(P) Act after obtaining prior approval from the competent authority and following the prescribed legal procedure in the presence of an Executive Magistrate 1st Class and independent witnesses.
Meanwhile, Police Station Shalteng froze a single-storeyed residential house along with seven marlas of land at Check Mujgund, Srinagar, valued at approximately ₹46 lakh, belonging to Amir Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd. Ashraf Mir.
The action relates to FIR No. 43/2023 under Sections 8/21 and 29 of the NDPS Act. During investigation, the property was found to have been acquired from the alleged proceeds of illicit drug trafficking, following which it was frozen under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
With these latest actions, Srinagar Police has attached or frozen four immovable properties with a combined estimated value of ₹6.31 crore, targeting assets allegedly linked to narcotics trafficking and terror-related activities.
Srinagar Police said such legal measures are aimed at identifying, tracing and disrupting the financial proceeds and infrastructure generated through illicit activities, thereby striking at the financial networks that sustain drug trafficking and terror-related activities.
Police reiterated that lawful and sustained action against drug traffickers, terror networks, their associates and financial support structures will continue in accordance with the law.
