The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday attached the property of a man it described as a “hard-core terror associate” in south Kashmir’s Shopian district, officials said. The property, belonging to Tariq Ahmad Mir of Maldeera village, was seized under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) as part of an ongoing investigation into militant financing and support structures. Notices were pasted on the premises by NIA personnel and local police to mark the attachment.

According to officials, Mir was found to be providing logistical support to militants active in the region. “The property has been attached after evidence established his role in aiding and abetting unlawful activities. Such assets will not be allowed to be used for harbouring militants or supporting their logistics,” the NIA said.
The action forms part of the agency’s broader crackdown on the financial and material networks that sustain militancy in Jammu and Kashmir. Over the past year, the NIA has attached multiple properties of alleged overground workers and individuals accused of facilitating militant operations.
