The Jammu and Kashmir Government has extended the Amnesty Scheme for domestic electricity consumers till March 31, 2026, providing much-needed relief to households struggling with outstanding dues.
According to Government Order issued by the Power Development Department a copy of which lies with news agency , the extension is granted under the same terms and conditions mentioned in the earlier orders (No. 103-PDD of 2022 dated 12-09-2022 and No. 47-JKPDD of 2024 dated 15-03-2024).
However, the fresh order clarifies that the 100% waiver of interest and surcharge will only apply to the outstanding amount as of March 31, 2025.
The order further states that no further extension of the Amnesty Scheme will be granted beyond this period.
