The sacred Chhari Mubarak, the holy mace of Lord Shiva, left the historic Akhara Building in Srinagar on Saturday after a traditional pooja and religious ceremonies. It is now proceeding towards Pahalgam, one of the traditional base camps of the Shri Amarnath Yatra.

Traditional Pooja Held Before Departure

The sacred mace was worshipped at the Akhara Building amid traditional rituals and chanting. Devotees and saints offered prayers to Lord Shiva before the Chhari Mubarak began its onward journey.

Religious Rituals to Continue in Pahalgam

After reaching Pahalgam, several important religious rituals and ceremonies associated with the annual Shri Amarnath Yatra will be performed. Pahalgam holds special significance as one of the traditional routes and base camps for the pilgrimage.

Journey to Continue Through Traditional Route

Following the rituals at Pahalgam, the Chhari Mubarak will continue along the traditional pilgrimage route, covering important locations including Chandanwari, Sheshnag and Panchtarni, before proceeding towards the holy Amarnath Cave.

Final Religious Ceremony at Holy Cave

The Chhari Mubarak tradition forms an important part of the concluding religious ceremonies of the annual Amarnath Yatra. The sacred mace is traditionally taken to the holy cave, where special prayers and rituals are performed.

A Symbol of Kashmir’s Spiritual Heritage

The annual journey of Chhari Mubarak represents the deep-rooted spiritual and cultural traditions associated with the Shri Amarnath Yatra. The centuries-old tradition brings together saints, devotees and pilgrims in an atmosphere of faith and devotion.

With the departure of Chhari Mubarak from Srinagar, the final phase of the sacred religious ceremonies of Shri Amarnath Yatra has begun.
