The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken action against a Probationary Sub-Inspector posted at Police Station Janipur, Jammu, in connection with an alleged demand and acceptance of ₹10,000 from a complainant.

According to information available, the official, identified as PSI Danish Habib, 2024 batch, allegedly sought the amount from the complainant in connection with a matter related to a domestic dispute. The alleged payment was reportedly sought in return for not registering an FIR in the case.

Acting on a complaint, the CBI laid a trap during which the police official was allegedly caught while accepting the amount of ₹10,000.

Following the operation, the CBI is understood to have initiated further legal proceedings and investigation into the matter. The agency is also examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged demand and payment.

The case remains under investigation, and further details are awaited from the concerned agency.
