Strongly condemning the BJP led Union govt for installing Malpur Toll Toll Plaza at Jammu-Akhnoor road in Jammu, a strong battalion of Panthers India activists spearheaded by Harsh Dev Singh State President and former Minister held a thunderous protest demonstration at the Toll Plaza site in Malpur amid torrential rains. 

The infuriated protesters while seeking the revocation of Malpur Toll Plaza raised slogans ‘ BJP Hatao, Jammu Bachao’, ‘BJP Dogron ko lutna band karo’, ‘Loot Khasoot ki rajneeti nahi  chalegi’besides others.
Addressing the media, Harsh Dev Singh said that the move was fraught with dangerous portends. He said that people of Jammu were wary of even the existing Toll Plazas at Lakhanpur, Ban and Chenani which were taxing them heavily amid inflation.
“The people were seeking disbanding these Toll Plazas with BJP leadership cheating them by false assurances. It was however disturbing to note that rather than shutting them down, the GoI had embarked upon the construction of one more additional Toll Plaza at Malpur in Jammu which had sparked massive outrage”, lamented Harsh. 
Singh lambasted the BJP regime over its misplaced priorities and for conversion of city of temples into city of Bar Plazas and Toll Plazas. He said that hundreds of liquor vends are operational in Jammu which appeared to be a conspiracy against the Dogra land. He said that the silence of BJP leaders over the issues of Toll Plazas and liquor vends was highly intriguing and deserved condemnation from one and all.
. Singh revealed that Jammu region accounts for around 76% of the total tax collection in J&K. “Such tax collections are raised in the form of GST, Excise duty, VAT, Motor spirit tax, stamp duty, passenger tax, road tax, registration fee, toll tax etc. And while the major part of revenue is realized from Jammu region, its share in the development and allied sectors in minimal. Even today when BJP has 28 MLAs and 2 MPs from Jammu region, the focus of the govt has remained on Kashmir. With all developmental projects worth Rs 10,637 crores having been announced recently for the valley with none falling in the kitty of Jammu region has unveiled the treacherous character of the BJP”, rued Mr. Singh.
Describing the operations of several Toll Plazas in close proxity of Jammu as an act of organized and institutionalized loot, Mr. Singh cautioned to launch an agitation in case the decision to install new Malpur Toll Plaza was not revoked at the earliest. 
He said that such huge taxation in the form of multiple Toll Plazas was simply unaffordable for the common masses and particularly posed a menacing threat to the pockets of labourers, farmers and other economically weaker sections of society. “With pilgrims and tourists also having to pay toll at different locations in the vicinity of Jammu alone, the business and tourism of the region was also likely to be adversely impacted.
The traders, transporters and other private operators had also expressed their concern over the issue which had the potential to explode in a big way. Moreover, the situation in J&K was already very sensitive and the govt. move of imposing such ‘Jazia’ would have the effect of adding fuel to fire”, said Harsh.
Lambasting the BJP for its criminal silence towards the grave issues of public importance, Mr. Singh said that it would have to account for such anti-people policies in the form of increased toll, taxation, ever increasing petrol and diesel prices. “ Panthers India shall not relent unless the treacherous and dual faced BJP is decimated from the Dogra soil”, Harsh roared.
