 Ahead of Independence Day 2025, Baramulla came alive with the colours of patriotism as more than 12 thousand citizens from all walks of life joined a grand Tiranga Rally in the heart of the town, proudly carrying a majestic 2.5 kilometre-long tricolour.

Jointly led by Deputy Commissioner Baramulla, Minga Sherpa, and Senior Superintendent of Police, Gurinderpal Singh, the rally witnessed the participation of ADC Baramulla Syed Altaf Hussain Mausvi, other officers from the civil administration, army and police officers, officials from various departments, students, and local residents, coming together to create an unforgettable display of unity and patriotic spirit.

The rally commenced from the historic Saint Joseph School Baramulla, where thousands of enthusiastic participants carried the national flag, chanted slogans, and sang patriotic songs, honouring the sacrifices of freedom fighters and fallen heroes who gave their lives for the nation’s independence.

After passing through the heart of Baramulla town, the rally culminated at Showkat Ali Stadium, where various government departments had set up exhibition stalls and a vibrant cultural programme was presented by the students from various schools, celebrating the spirit of patriotism.

On the occasion, the DC extended his heartfelt gratitude to each and every participant of the Tiranga Rally, emphasising that their collective presence not only added vibrancy and grandeur to the celebration but also reflected the deep-rooted patriotism and unity that define the spirit of Baramulla.

Minga Sherpa further highlighted the significance of the event, underscoring that the participation of thousands of citizens, ranging from school children to elderly residents, reflected how the national spirit rises above age, background, and all other differences.

Earlier, the DC, along with the SSP, jointly flagged off a vibrant bike rally from Akbar Chowk to Showkat Ali Stadium, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of a large number of bikers carrying the Tiranga, celebrating unity and patriotic spirit in the run-up to Independence Day 2025.

Later, during his visit to Gulmarg, the DC led a high-spirited ATV Rally with tricolor fluttering in the air, traversed  through the breathtaking expanse of the Gulmarg Bowl, spreading the message of patriotism.

Furthermore, in a unique display of patriotism, Minga Sherpa also flagged off a spectacular Horse Riders Rally at the picturesque tourist destination of Gulmarg stirring deep patriotic fervour, uniting locals and visitors alike in the spirit of Independence Day.
