A felicitation ceremony was organised to honour Rajesh Gupta, a resident of Ramkot, on his retirement after nearly 37 years of dedicated service in the field of education.

During the ceremony, colleagues, family members, former students and well-wishers recalled his long and distinguished teaching career and appreciated his contribution to shaping the lives of generations of students. The gathering also wished him a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling life after retirement.

Rajesh Gupta began his teaching career in 1989 at Army School Jammu, Satwari. On June 1, 1992, he joined the Jammu and Kashmir Government Education Department and was posted at Middle School Dan Jasdhar, Zone Bhaddu.

After serving at Dan Jasdhar for around five months, he was transferred to Girls Middle School Ramkot, where he continued his services until July 1997. He was subsequently posted at Girls Middle School Galk and, about a year later, in June 1998, was transferred to HSS Ramkot.

He served at HSS Ramkot for nearly 11 years, imparting education and guidance to students. In 2008, he was transferred to HSS Nagrota Gujroo.

In April 2010, Gupta was promoted to the Master Grade and posted at HSS Khailani in Doda district. In April 2012, he was transferred to HSS Kathar Manwal, Jammu, followed by his posting at HSS Sunjwan, Jammu, in 2016.

In 2019, he was promoted to the post of Lecturer and posted at DIET Samba. Later, in September 2023, he was transferred from DIET Samba to HSS Garh Dhamma, where he continued his services until his retirement.

His nearly 37-year teaching journey was not merely a record of postings and promotions but a remarkable journey of educating and guiding countless students. Many of the students taught and mentored by him have gone on to take up important responsibilities in different fields and contribute to society.

Those present at the ceremony said that a teacher does more than impart academic knowledge, playing an important role in shaping the personality, values and future of students. They said Gupta carried forward this tradition of teaching and mentorship throughout his career and helped provide education, guidance and values to several generations.

On the emotional occasion of his retirement, family members, colleagues, students and well-wishers felicitated Rajesh Gupta and expressed their gratitude for his dedicated contribution to the field of education.

The gathering extended its best wishes to him for a healthy, peaceful and fulfilling post-retirement life, while remembering his 37 years of service with respect and gratitude.
