Jammu and Kashmir reported twenty-two new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday; among them eighteen are from Kashmir and four in Jammu. The total number of COVID-19 patients in the J-K now reached 300-mark.
The four cases in Jammu were reported yesterday night and no new case has been reported after that.
The total cases in Jammu are 54 while 246 cases have been reported from Kashmir valley.
Officials sources told that fifteen of these were confirmed in SKIMS, three in CD hospital lab and four in Jammu.
Till yesterday, four people had died due to the infection in the J-K while thirty others — nine from Jammu and twenty-one from Kashmir division, including two minor sisters — recovered and have been discharged, leaving the active cases in Kashmir to 204 and forty in Jammu.
Meanwhile, the government informed that 55,498 travellers and people in contact with suspected cases have been put under surveillance which includes 7,760 people in-home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 365 in hospital quarantine, 244 in hospital isolation, and 30,952 under home surveillance. Besides, 16,173 persons have completed their 28-day surveillance period. By far, 4,341 samples have tested as negative.
