October The live musical evening of Nooran sisters, the Sufi singer duo of international fame enthralled the audience by their mesmerizing performance amid the cold chill here at NDS Stadium Leh .Thousands of people, unbothered by the cold, enjoyed the Sufi musical evening organised by District Police Leh Ladakh under Civic Action Programme of J&K Police at NDS Stadium on the eve of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi.
With the theme of "Connected by Music" the event was first of its kind in whole Ladakh with the live performance of Nooran sisters, hosted by the most sought after RJ of Radio Mirchi 98.3 fm Jammu, RJ Shwetima and special performances by the most popular artists of Leh District on the tunes played by District Police Band on a same stage. The event started by paying rich tributes to the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi by lighting of the traditional lamp followed by the performances of the local stars including dance items by the students and local artists.
Sh. Dilbag Singh-IPS DGP J&K while interacting with the main artists welcomed them and also thanked them for arriving in Leh and presenting such a show. He also thanked and congratulated RJ Shwetima and the other local artists for their exhilarating performances on stage which kept the audience in their best spirits.
Chief Executive Councilor LAHDC Leh Sh. Gyal Wangyal, Dy.CEC Sh. Tsering Sangdup, GOC 14 Core Lt. General Y K Joshi ,IG Kashmir Sh. SP Pani-IPS, IG ITBP Dipam Seth-IPS, Divisional Commissioner Ladakh Sh. Saugat Biswas-IAS besides high ranking officers of Army, Para Military, District Officers, representatives of the prominent religious, social, commercial and political organizations were also present on the occasion.
Later, mementoes along with traditional khataqs were presented to Jyoti Nooran and Sultana Nooran by DGP Sh. Dlibag Singh-IPS in presence of IG Kashmir Sh. SP Pani-IPS and SSP Leh Miss Sargun Shukla IPS. Others who were facilitated were Mr. Fayaz Wani, AGM SBI, the Corporate Partner ,RJ Shwetima and Producer Iqbal Singh of Radio Mirchi 98.3 fm Jammu, the Happiness Partner and all those organisations and individuals who supported District Police Leh in this endeavor.
