The annual pilgrimage to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Amarnathji concluded today, on Shravan Purnima, amid chanting of religious shlokas in the spiritual ambience of south Kashmir Himalayas.

Shri Anup Kumar Soni, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board along with other officials visited the Cave Shrine early this morning and carried out Samapan Pujan. He prayed for sustainedpeace, harmony, progress & prosperity in the State. Additional CEO stated that 3,43,587 Yatris had paid obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine during this year’s pilgrimage, which had commenced on 1st July from both the Baltal &Pahalgam routes.

Chief Executive Officer, Shri Umang Narula informed thatthis year arrangements were improved  forYatra over the last years by Shrine Board which included online registrationfor Yatra, Bar coding of Yatri Permit Forms, SASB App for Yatris, improvedsanitation facilities with installation of Bio toilets at Baltal & Reversevending machine at Chandanwari, upgraded health care facilities, telecomfacilities etc.

Governor Satya Pal Malik, complimented the Civil and PoliceAdministration of Anantnag & Ganderbal Districts, J&K Police, CentralArmed Police Forces, Army, various State Government Departments and all otheragencies for smooth completion of Yatra 2019.

Governor lauded the people of Kashmir for making this annualpilgrimage a successful event ever since it is being observed. Appreciating thevaluable support of local people in conduct of this Yatra, he described theirrole in this Yatra as a true essence of Kashmiriyat which is exemplary for itscommunal harmony.
