Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti's daughter Iltija Mufti has written to a top J&K police officer highlighting the "plight" of police and CRPF men who guard the former chief minister and her family.
Mehbooba Mufti shifted to newly relocated house in Khimber,  20 km away from the Gupkar Fairview bungalow which she vacated in last week of November after the government eviction notice.
'In the past one month and half, J&K police along with CRPF undertook countless inspections of this house at Khimber  to understand and subsequently establish a suitable area for the security personnel for residential purposes. Even after we in agreement with security agencies demarcated a clear area for the aforementioned purpose, there has been absolutely no progress whatsoever is setting up a livable and humane structure for these security personnel,” the letter addressed to J&K’s additional director general of police, security read.
Iltija said that they were extremely concerned about the well being of security personnel due to the sub zero temperatures.
“We are extremely appreciative of how these security men work tirelessly round the clock to protect our lives but at the same time worried about the inhuman conditions they are being made to live in..I earnestly request you to expedite the process of setting up a decent livable structure and ensure their safety and well being,” Iltija wrote.
