Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Jammu & Kashmir led by its senior leaders felicitated newly nominated MP (Rajya Sabha) Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, Jammu.

J&K BJP President Ravinder Raina, MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, former party Presidents Ashok Khajuria, Shamsher Singh Manhas & Sat Sharma, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, BJP Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Koul, General Secretary Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, BJP NEM & Headquarter Incharge Priya Sethi, former MLCs Girdhari Lal Raina & Charanjit Khalsa, Chief Spokesperson Adv. Sunil Sethi, ST Morcha President Choudhary Haroon and other party leaders felicitated Er. Khatana on the occasion.

Ravinder Raina, while felicitating Er. Khatana, for his nomination, appreciated the perseverance and commitment shown by him. He said that Er. Khatana served the party with a mission and every activist must do his or her allotted work dedicatedly. He said that only BJP identifies the hidden talent from the ordinary family. He said that only BJP is the true representative of Gujjar, Bakkarwals and the parties like Congress, NC, PDP only misused the community. Now Modi ji has given powers to the community giving them land rights, representation, changes in Inter District recruitment rule and so on. With the nomination of Er. Khatana to the Rajya Sabha, BJP has given voice to the community in the most sacred house of Nation. With this decision Modi ji, Nadda ji, Amit Shah ji have proved their love for the region and the community.

Er. Ghulam Ali Khatana, thanking the party leadership for the faith posed in him, shared his political and social experiences during his public career. He said that he was moved by the needs of the society and the prevalence of corruption. He narrated the instances when he was guided and groomed by the BJP seniors in various parts of the Nation. He said that Modi ji has delivered what he promised, stressing that the PM was vocal while saying that he will do justice with every neglected section of society. BJP believes in ''Sabka Sath, Sabka Vishwas''. "I assure all the political seniors and my companions that together we will work and together we will grow", he said.

Jugal Kishore Sharma warmly greeted the new MP and said that this is a welcome decision. He expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister Modi ji and the senior party leadership for giving the opportunity to a ground level worker. He asked Er. Khatana that from now on they will work together for the betterment of the region.

Kavinder Gupta termed the decision as a great work at the right time. He said that the things that have lingered for 70 years are being done now. A big responsibility on his shoulders now and must do justice with the faith the party has posed in him.

Ashok Khajuria remembered the experiences he shared with him. He said that he must remember that he now does not belong to a single community but must project the issues of society as a whole.

Shamsher Singh Manhas threw light on the career of Er. Khatana since he joined the party. He also shared a few moments and his experiences during his Rajya Sabha tenure with Er. Khatana.

Sat Sharma stressed that it is the beauty of BJP that an ordinary activist has today reached an important position where he will now be able to project the issues of common masses.

Sunil Sethi said that he has the capacity to make constructive discussions with a bold and clear stand.

Ch. Haroon thanked the party leadership for giving such strong representation to the Gujjar community and said that only BJP has done justice with them.

Dr. Devinder Kumar Manyal, shared the information about the political and social life of Er. Khatana, while he conducted the proceedings of the felicitation programme.
