A havildar of the Indian Army has gone missing in snow in Jammu and Kashmir and as per reports, is now in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. As per details available, havildar Rajendra Singh Negi slipped in the snow in Gulmarg while he was on duty.

He is now believed to be in PoK and his family has appealed the Central government to ensure his safe and early return from the neighbouring country. As per information available, Negi's wife Rajeshwari got a call from his unit on January 8. She was informed that her husband had gone missing in Jammu and Kashmir. It later emerged that the jawan had slipped in the snow and accidentally crossed over to PoK.

Army sources said a search and rescue operation to trace the havildar was underway and no efforts were being spared to bring him back safely from PoK.
