PCC President Jb. Vikar Rasool Wani speaking at the meeting, highlighted the strategic measures which will be adopted by Congress in J&K to create awareness of BJP's draconian policies towards J&K since the formation of BJP Govt at the centre. He said that the new land laws remove the last strand of protection that was available for the UT and hands over the future of lakhs of residents to uncertainty. Many people had trusted the BJP government at the Centre but it's exploitative and unthought decisions have made the public reluctant and doubtful of their intentions. This was a huge betrayal by the government to the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The people are unhappy with this government's decisions which pull the curtain from their false promises and lies that were made after the statehood was snatched away, he added.JKPCC Working President Raman Bhalla highlighted the failures of the BJP government and said that unlike other states in India, J&K now lacks the protection and autonomy that can be provided by a state government. Its exclusive rights were ruthlessly taken away with its statehood. He also remarked that BJP's policies in J&K are bound to create more unemployment shortly as their effects play out one by one. Curative measures need to be taken for which the first step should be creating more awareness among the people. He said due to wrong policies of BJP Govt, apart from an economic slowdown, J&K has witnessed the loss of dignity and identity. Dogra culture, too, has been harmed and even, ruined by the government.
However, the common man is now becoming relatively more aware of these injustices done in the name of progressive laws and stands firmly against the BJP, he said.Bhalla stated that the situation of J&K is hopeless and chaotic under the BJP. He said "Government had promised that the people of Jammu will not be disappointed after J&K was turned into a union territory. However, people have only faced disappointment since then.
The new land laws are an attack on the unique identity of J&K which needs to be protected at all costs."

Also speaking at the meeting, Yogesh Sawhney criticised increase in GST rates, saying that this has very badly impacted Indian families for whom various household items now becomes more costlier. With the hike coming into effect, the common man will have to pay extra to buy day to day items, further increasing their kitchen budget. The government has now imposed 5% GST on daily use kitchen items such as curd, lassi, buttermilk, paneer, rice, wheat, oats etc. Calling GST the Gabbar Singh Tax, Bhalla further stated that the BJP government has been consistently making efforts to increase taxes, increase government revenue at the cost of the pockets of the middle class and poor families.
At a time, when the country is battling so many economic difficulties, the Centre goes ahead and adds another problem in the list. Congress leader Hari Singh Chib further highlighted that the brunt of this hike will be borne by the middle class families, the poor, the working class, who already struggle to make ends meet because of the existing inflation in our country. Who does the government care about more, it’s business class capitalist friends or the common man, asked Bhalla. The GST induced inflation and the Modi government induced inflation is crippling the savings and the budgets of people, when will the Modi government stop. These are the “Ache Din” the Modi government had promised they will bring.
Manmohan Singh, senior Congress leader, said that from the hike that is being done, it is very clear which section of people the BJP cares about and how ignorant and indifferent it is to the real needs of the common people. He added that the worsening economic and political scenario in J&K calls for immediate action against the government and Congress party in Jammu will strive for reverting such policies which can harm the growth and development of J&K.
