Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Ladakh on August29 and it will be his first visit after the government scrapped Article 370.Singh will be visiting Ladakh to review the situation in the region.
During the visit, Rajnath Singh will interact with thelocals and other stakeholders regarding the decision to turn the area into aUnion Territory and how it is going to help them, Defence officials said.
The Minister is also expected to hold interactions with thedefence and military officials there regarding the situation on the borderswith both China and Pakistan there.
The 14 Corps in Leh manages both the borders with Pakistanalong the Kargil-Drass-Siachen sector while on the other side it manages theEastern Ladakh boundary with China.
This would be the first visit by a senior governmentfunctionary to Ladakh post the abrogation of article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir.
