Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board organised pledge taking ceremony and valedictory function of the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign at the Spiritual Growth Centre at Katra today.
Mr. Simrandeep Singh, Chief Executive Officer, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, who was the chief guest on the occasion, gave away mementos to the Area/Unit Heads of the Shrine Board and heads of various institutions for conducting the campaign most successfully. He also distributed prizes and certificates among the students who excelled in different activities and competitions organised by the Board during the campaign which was conducted in collaboration with the Indian Oil Corporation.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Simrandeep Singh paid rich tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his 150th birth anniversary and threw light on his tremendous contribution, interalia, in uplifting of the society at large, particularly in promoting ‘Swachhata’. He also gave details of continuing initiatives being taken by the Shrine Board for ensuring utmost sanitation and cleanliness all along the track leading to the Holy Cave Shrine of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji, in the Bhawan area and the Board’s establishments. He impressed upon the staff and all other stakeholders to make ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign a regular feature and a matter of habit for maximising its impact on continuing basis. He complimented the officers and sanitation staff of the Board, Indian Oil Corporation, students and staff of the various educational institutions besides all those who participated in the campaign to spread the message of ‘Swachhata’.
Mr. Rajiv Yadav, DGM, Indian Oil Corporation spoke about the initiatives being taken by the Corporation for promoting ‘Swachhata’.
The students of Gurukul presented a Nukad Natak on this occasion to spread the message of ‘Swachhata’.
Mr. Vivek Verma, Additional CEO; Dr. Jagdish Mehra, Dy. CEO; Dr. Shailla Cannie, Principal, SMVD College of Nursing; Dr. Dhananjay Mishra, Principal, SMVD Gurukul; Mr. Pratiush Baboria, AM, India Oil Corporation; Area and Unit Heads, other concerned officers and sanitation staff of the Shrine Board, prominent citizens, heads and students of various educational institutions besides pilgrims were among those who participated in the function.
Mr. Vinay Khajuria, ACF, SMVDSB, gave details of the activities organised during ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ campaign.
