The administration on Saturday directed all drawing and disbursing officers to deduct one day salary of every employee from the month of March towards J&K relief fund in view of COVID-19 pandemic.
The amount will be contributed toward Jammu and Kashmir Relief fund to combat COVID-19.
A circular issued today asked all the drawing and disbursing officers to deduct one day salary of every employee from the month of March.
"Various Employee Organizations and Associations have expressed desire to contribute one day's salary towards relief fund in view of Covid-19 Pandemic. It is, therefore, enjoined upon all drawing and disbursing officers of J&K Union Territory that an amount equal to one day's basic salary of every employee may be deducted from the salary for the month of March, 2020 on voluntary basis," the circular reads.
It states that the employees shall be free to donate in excess of one day's basic salary, if they wish so. "The amount deducted shall be credited into the Account titled J&K Relief Fund."
