 Anil Sharma, President of All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference, AJKPC  along with other office bearers of the organization today sent off copies of the AJKPC’s Resolution dated 22/Dec/2022 to Narendra Modi Prime Minister of India, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval , Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and other members of Parliament of India.
The resolution that is dispatched today was  passed by unanimous voting by all the functionaries of the AJKPC in its one day convention held in Jammu a week ago.
 Seven Points Resolution demands extension of the present term of the Panchayats on the argument that since due to corona  pandemic for more than two years the existing heads of Panchayats could not perform their duties diligently. It seeks extension of the term of PRIs of J & K till Dec 2025 and new elections only in January 2026 along with the elections of District Development Councils as envisaged in the 73rd amendment of Indian Constitution.
While interacting with the media persons after dispatching the copies of resolution through registered post from Head Post Office Gandhinagar Jammu, Anil Sharma, the president of AJKPC informed that besides other demands the resolution is very clear that no Panchayat member of J & K would accept any preponement of elections of existing  Panchayats.
He said the copies of these resolutions has also been sent to all important National  leaders of political parties and they have been apprised about  the aspirations and demands of the elected PRI’s of J & K.
Highlighting a part of the Resolution, Sharma also said that very first paragraph of  their 7 points Resolution states that every member of the AJKPC shall continue to support the government of India and Government of J & K  for establishment of Peace and Strengthening of Democracy in J & K and for ensuring upholding dignity of Constitution of India and its flag in every Nook and Corner of J & K.
 In the resolution AJKPC has also sought relief for the families of all martyred elected members of PRIs who had laid down their life for India’s sovereignty during the period 2011 to till date.
AJKPC leader also hinted that a delegation of J & K PRI members may also soon leave for Delhi to press for their demands. Other leaders of AJKPC who were present on the occasion include A k Pandita, Des Raj Bhagat, Jatinder singh, Manoj Pandita. Gh. Hassan Reshi,O.N Razdan, Brijnath Bhat, Sanjay Bhat,Shahnawaz Malik.
